Sidhar Temple and more than 1500 years old Thenupureeswarar (Madambakkam Sivan) Temple which are located very close to each other, In front of these Temples is the Bhavya Swarooba Sri Raghavendra Swamy Miruthiga Brindhavanam located in Sithalapakkam. In earlier days, Sidhars stayed here and they blessed this place. Hence it is named as "Sidharpakkam" and as the years rolled by it is now known as "Chithalapakkam" and also Sithalapakkam.
Aachariyar conducted regular poojas for the Sithalapakkam Brindhavanam Miruthigai. In 48 days special poojas Manthralaya Moola Brindhavana Miruthigai was worshiped. Aachariyar kept the Miruthigai over his head and placed it with celebration and incidental music in Brindhavan. Therefore it is termed as Miruthiga Brindhavan - to enlighten the Gururajar's Brindhavan Kumbabishegam was done beautifully.
Meanwhile an Eagle from above came near the Gopura Kalasam and revolved around it 3 times. Seeing that, all the people exclaimed 'Narayana', 'Raghavendra'!. The uppermost part of the Gopura kalasam is the four statues of Nagaraj with his eagle which is four facet.
In order to offer Vasthra Seva to Guru and Vayu - please bring 9x5 size Veshti, Towel - 2 sets. To offer other gods please bring Pillayar towel (2 feet) - 25 Nos., Skirt (3 feet) - 15 nos. and Navagraha (cotton) Vasthara one set in a bag with your family members Name, Nakshathra and Gothra written in it.
